Altıntaş

Altintas is a district of Kütahya province in Turkey. It is 50 km to Kütahya city center, 90 km to Uşak and 65 km to Afyonkarahisar. The district is at the crossroads between Kütahya-Afyonkarahisar, Kütahya-Uşak-İzmir. Its old name is known as Kurt Köy. The 2020 population is 15,835.

The main source of livelihood of the district is agriculture. Wheat, barley, sugar beet, beans and chickpeas are the main crops grown. Fruit growing is not very developed. Although there are rich marble deposits, the facilities for processing are not sufficient. The district has 1 kindergarten, 5 primary schools, 6 secondary schools, 3 high schools, 10 combined class schools, 1 public education center. There is Şehit Polis Elvan Özbay Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Altıntaş Public Education Center and Kütahya Dumlupınar University Altıntaş Vocational School.

The Great Offensive and the Battle of the Commander-in-Chief took place within the borders of the district, which has an important place in the War of Independence. In Zafertepe Çalköy, Mustafa Kemal Pasha gave the historical order "Armies, your first target is the Mediterranean Sea, forward!".

Zafer Airport is located here. In addition, when the Beşkarış Dam is completed and the Akçaköy Dam is built, it will be possible to make significant progress in agricultural irrigation.
