Amasra

Amasra is a district of Bartın province in the Western Black Sea Region. Amasra, which has a cape extending towards the sea, two bays on either side of the cape that serve as sheltered harbors, and independent islands connected to the mainland, was also Amastris in ancient times. Archived on June 21, 2023, at the Wayback Machine. It is a settlement with a 3000-year-old history, local arts based on charm and fishing, and forest areas surrounding it. Amasra is still a tourism region with original fish restaurants, hotels and guesthouses. Amasra hosts many local tourists, especially during the summer months, due to its proximity to Ankara. In Amasra, which hosts many daily and accommodation trips, the most visited places are Amasra beach, Amasra museum, Gürcüoluk cave, Kuş Kayası road monument, Göldere waterfall, Crying Tree, Direkli rock, Amasra castle and Amasra lighthouse. It is the hometown of artist Barış Akarsu. Akarsu dedicated his last tape, released in January 2007, to the people of Amasra. There is a Barış Akarsu statue in Amasra. The statue of Fatih Sultan Mehmed, who conquered Amasra, is also located in front of the Amasra Museum.
