Atkaracalar
Atkaracalar is a district of Çankırı province.
In the census conducted according to the address-based population registration system, the population of the district centre was determined as 2655 people depending on residence.
Since 1880, it has been known by this name. In its history, it was raised from town level to district level and connected to the province. The district municipality was established in 1927 as a town municipality.
In the history of Atkaracalar, Hamza Sultan, whose tomb is located in Hoşislamlar locality at the foot of Dumanlı Mountain near the district centre, and his disciples lying in their tombs in the central mosque have important roles.
