Bayramaören

Bayramören is a district of Çankırı. Bayramören was a parish of Kurşunlu district; In 1972, it became a municipality and in 1991, it was separated from Kurşunlu district and gained district status. There are 27 villages connected to the district and 3 neighbourhoods in the centre. According to 2021 ADNKS data, the district centre is the least populated district centre in Turkey with 476 inhabitants. Its total population is 2,740 people and in this respect, it is the tenth from the last among 922 districts.

The district is 105 km away from the city centre and is located in the northwest of Çankırı. There are Araç district of Kastamonu province in the north, Çerkeş district and Ovacık district of Karabük province in the west, Atkaracalar and Kurşunlu in the south, and Kurşunlu district in the east. It has a total area of 265 km².

Due to its geographical structure and the scarcity of business areas, it has migrated a lot, especially to Istanbul and Ankara. It is also a small district with its historical structure and natural environment.

In addition, every year Pre-Paragliding World Cup Çankırı (Bayramören) & Turkey Championship 1st Leg is held. For this reason, it attracts great interest from the surrounding provinces. Most of the people living in the district are retired and the rest are engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry.

In September 2015, the World Paragliding Championship was organised.
