Beyoğlu
Beyoğlu, or formerly Pera, is one of the districts of Istanbul on the European side. The district, bordered by Şişli and Kâğıthane in the northwest, Beşiktaş and the Bosphorus in the east, and the Golden Horn in the south and west, has a surface area of 8.76 km2 and consists of 45 neighborhoods. It takes its name from the Beyoğlu district, also called Pera, which covers the area determined by Istiklal Street, which stretches between Tünel and Taksim, and the streets opening to it.
