Büyükorhan
Büyükorhan is one of the 17 districts of Bursa. During the Byzantine period, it was a region within the territory of Atranos (Today Orhaneli) Tekfurluk. It came under Ottoman rule by Orhan Gazi in 1321. The settlement consisting of three obas was named Orhan-ı Kebir in reference to the conqueror Orhan Bey. It was renamed as Büyükorhan during the Republican period. In 1944, Büyükorhan, which was a sub-district of Orhaneli, became a municipality in 1967 and a district in 1987.
