Çatalzeytin
Çatalzeytin, one of the most beautiful districts of Kastamonu, is a place where blue and green embrace like other districts of Kastamonu and many places in the Black Sea Region. Çatalzeytin is approximately 105 km. away from Kastamonu city. Çatalzeytin, which has a population of 6346 according to 2017, is one of the places we should add to our travel list with its magnificent nature and places to visit. The history of Çatalzeytin goes back to 1200 BC. During this period, the Migration of Sea Tribes happened with the destruction of the Hittites. After this event, some of the Phrygians came to this region and dominated the lands. The city, which also came under Pontus and Byzantine rule, came under Ottoman rule during the reign of Fatih after the Ilkhanid rule. Thus, elements from different cultures can be found together here.
