Çeltik

Çeltik is a district of Konya province.

Its distance to Konya city centre is 220 km and it is the 2nd farthest district (after Anamur; 239 km) from the city centre in Turkey. It is also a district of Konya province and borders Afyon, Eskişehir and Ankara.

The establishment of the district dates back to the 11th and 12th centuries. According to İbrahim Hakkı Konyalı's work "History of Konya", the history of Çeltik dates back to Akçaşehir in Karaman Province. Akçaşehir, which was established in a place called Ibanın Kuyusu near Çeltik, gained district identity in 1902, but due to its swamp and mosquito abundance, it was first given to Hatırlı as a district, then transferred to Cihanbeyli and became a district in 1990.

Çeltik, located in the north-west of Konya, is surrounded by Polatlı in the east, Emirdağ in the west, Yunak in the south and Sivrihisar in the north. Established on Central Western Anatolia, Çeltik has a continental climate with hot and dry summers and cold and snowy winters. Çeltik has 2 towns and 7 villages.
