Damal
Damal is a district of Ardahan province.
Dadali Turkmens live in the district center and all villages connected to it.
Damal is famous for the silhouette of Atatürk appearing on its mountains. Every year from June 15th to July 15th from 18.00 on the ridges of Karadağ, this silhouette of Atatürk can be clearly seen for about 20 minutes.
Damal Music Festivals in the Footsteps and Shadow of Atatürk are organized in Ardahan on these dates.
In 2001, in the best local clothes competition organized in Japan, the Damal Turkmen Doll made by Damal Public Education Directorate master trainers, which is identified with the name of the district, was selected first.
