Dilovası

Dilovası (ancient name: Lbyssa) is a district of Kocaeli. In 2008, it was separated from Gebze and became a district. It was established on an area of approximately 2000 hectares on the southern coastline of the Kocaeli Peninsula. With the district, the district governorship was established within the municipality building and the first district governor of Dilovası was Hasan Göç. As a result of the 2009 local elections, Cemil Yaman became the mayor of Dilovası.
