Dinar

Dinar is a district of Afyonkarahisar Province. The district takes its name from Dinar Bey, the son of Kitiş Bey, who settled in the region during the Turkish Migrations from Central Asia. Its old name is Deer. Dinar is a very important road for Turkey's highways. It is the road that connects the Central Anatolia Region to the Aegean and connects the Mediterranean to the Marmara. It is 60 km to Isparta and Burdur, 110 km to Denizli, Afyonkarahisar and Uşak. It is the district with the largest population after the city center in the statement of the district identity card. As a result of the 6.1 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the district on Sunday, October 1, 1995 at 17:57, 99 people died and great material damage occurred. The district, which tried to become a province until this date, could not straighten its back after the earthquake, and gave a very intense migration to Isparta, Denizli and Antalya provinces and its population decreased continuously. It is the district that gives the most immigrants in Afyonkarahisar province. Migration still continues. It is the district with the highest number of citizens abroad after Emirdağ. (Donbayovası, Çölovası, Sazovası and Dinarovası). It is the district that gave the most martyrs in Afyonkarahisar. Denizli's Çardak and Çivril districts, while Afyonkarahisar's Dazkırı, Başmakçı and Petler districts were separated from Dinar and became districts.
