Evren, where Anatolian civilizations lived in every period, is one of the oldest settlements in Anatolia. Hittites, Phrygians, Persians, Romans, Seljuk Dynasty, Karahanoğulları and Ottomans have established various settlements in this region throughout history. As a result of the research conducted by the Ministry of Culture in the district and its surroundings, B.C. The existence of artifacts from the Bronze Age, Iron Age and Roman periods until 2400 BC has been detected. In addition, 10 million-year-old fossil remains, which are said to belong to the flood period, were found in the excavations carried out on the banks of the dam waters, and studies are still continuing intermittently. The historical Silk Road also passes through Evren, which was a settlement area for Turks during the Seljuk and Ottoman periods. According to a research, the majority of the people currently living in the district are from Turkmen tribes, and according to a research, they are thought to be "Derbent"*. The district, which had the status of a village until 1963 and was called Çıkınağıl, was moved to its current location in 1957 because its previous location was submerged under the waters of Hirfanlı Dam Lake. It became a town within the Şereflikoçhisar district in 1963, and its name was changed to Evren in 1982. With the law no. 3644 enacted in 1990, it was transformed into a district status, with the name "Evren" remaining, and its first district governor was appointed on 2.8.1991. As a district affiliate, it is affiliated with the district center, excluding the center; It consists of 9 villages and 5 neighborhoods. Due to the military coup, the name of the settlement, which was a town called Çıkınağıl, was changed to "Evren" on May 21, 1984.
