Kartepe
Kartepe, formerly Köseköy, is a district of Kocaeli. It was previously connected to Izmit, the central district. Kartepe district was formed by the merger of Sarımeşe, Köseköy, Uzunçiftlik, Balaban, Uzuntarla, Eşme, Acısu, Maşukiye, Derbent, Arslanbey and Suadiye towns. The villages in Kartepe became neighborhoods. After the War of 93, Laz population came to many neighborhoods of the district.
