Keçiören

Keçiören is a district of Ankara province. According to 2022 population data, it is the second largest district of Ankara and the fourth largest district of Turkey. While it was previously a neighborhood of Altındağ district, the population of Keçiören, which became a district, approached 1 million with the Law on the Establishment of Six Districts and the Abolition of the Central District of Ankara Province, adopted on 29 November 1983. The district, which is divided into two parts by Çubuk Stream, has 51 neighborhoods. The Agricultural School building, which Atatürk used as headquarters during the preparations for the War of Independence, is today used as the General Directorate of Meteorological Affairs. The room used by Atatürk is under protection. Items from that period are exhibited.
