Lalapaşa
Lalapaşa is a district of Edirne province. It is located 22 km away from the central district.
Bulgaria lies to the north and west of the district, Suloglu district to the east and Edirne central district to the south.
The surface area of the district is 536.788 decares and the altitude is 72 m. Although the land of the district is generally flat, the Balkan (border) parts are hilly. There are sharp-toothed granites formed by erosion on the upper parts of the hills.
The streams fed by winter rains flow into the Tunca River. Although there are many rivers in the district, there are no important rivers.
The climate of the district is typically continental. The annual rainfall in the district is 350-450 mm.
The district is also a frontier region. 55.455 meters of Turkey's border with Bulgaria is in Lalapaşa region.
