Medina, officially Medina-i Münevvere or formerly Yathrib, is a city located north of Mecca in the Hejaz region of current Saudi Arabia, Located in western Saudi Arabia, Medina is about 200 km from the Red Sea. Its neighbors are Riyadh, Mecca and Jeddah. The north of the wide plain on which the city was founded is surrounded by Uhud, the south by the Air mountains, the east by Vâkım harresi, and the west by Vebere harresi. Medina and its surroundings are very rich in terms of water resources. In and around the city, there are underground water sources in the volcanic areas where there are streams and valleys with soft layers suitable for water at the bottom. You can visit Medina, which has a hot and dry climate throughout the year, whenever you want except summer months. In summer, temperatures can reach up to 45°C. On the other hand, temperatures vary between 17-28°C in winter, together with near-zero precipitation. Medina, which opened Doors of Prophet Muhammad and his companions, has been one of the most important cities of Islamic civilization for centuries by hosting the Masjid an-Nabawi and the tomb of Muhammad, which is considered the second most sacred place in Islam. Every year millions of people visit the holy lands for pilgrimage and umrah. In Madinah you can visit Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, Mount Uhud, Quba Mosque, Hegra (Mada'in Salih), Dar Al Madinah Museum and manny others. You can go back home with manny souveniers like rosary made of camel bone or handmade prayer rugs with a heart full of satisfaction.
