Menemen
Menemen is a district of Izmir province of Turkey. There are Aliağa and Foça in the north of the district, Çiğli, Karşıyaka and Bornova districts in the south, Manisa province in the east, and İzmir Bay in the west. Its population is 200,904 people as of 2022. It is famous for its menemen dish, strawberries, jugs and other pottery products. The Menemen Rebellion, one of the most important events in the history of the Republic and opposing the secular state order, took place here.
