Muratpaşa

Muratpaşa is one of the districts of Antalya.

It has 64 neighborhoods. There are no settlements such as towns, villages, oba and hamlets within the district borders. The district borders Kepez to the north, Aksu to the east and Konyaaltı to the west. Muratpaşa was established in 1993 as a municipality under Antalya Metropolitan Municipality together with Kepez and Konyaaltı, and was granted district status in 2008. The district is located between longitudes 30-31 degrees and latitudes 36-37 degrees, and there is a total of 20 km of coastline in the district.

The first urban settlement of Antalya, today called Kaleiçi, is also within the borders of the district. There are many important historical monuments in the district. Kaleiçi houses and Balbey Neighborhood houses, some of which have been restored, Hadrian's Gate, which was built in honor of the Roman Emperor Hadrian's arrival in Antalya in 130, which Antalians call "Three Gates", Yivli Minaret, which has been the symbol of Antalya since the XIIIth century, Murat Pasha Mosque built in 1570 during the Ottoman Empire, Karatay Madrasa, a beautiful example of Seljuk architectural style dating back to 1250, located in Kaleiçi, are just a few of them. In addition, many sculpture works made by various artists at different points of the district attract attention.
