Mustafapaşa

Set in the heart of Cappadocia, Mustafapaşa is one of the region’s best-preserved villages. Formerly known as Sinasos, Mustafapaşa has a deep-rooted past and cultural heritage, reflected in the village’s historical buildings and ambiance. Viewed on a map, Mustafapaşa appears as a “small Anatolian town” but the village located approximately 30 kilometers southeast of Nevşehir and about 5 kilometers south of Ürgüp, is an impressive residential area presents natural beauties and historical-cultural richness.

With a population of about 1,300 people, Mustafapaşa located in a unique geography surrounded by five valleys. Featuring churches, mosques and other magnificent stone structures, the village’s carved facades, balconies and windows showcase the skill of the region’s stonemasons. In fact, Mustafapaşa resembles an open-air museum with its fine examples of civil architecture. In harmony with the topography and climate, these 19th-century homes carry the traces of a brilliant culture to the present day with carefully crafted wall paintings, stonework and woodwork.
