Sason
Sason is a district of Batman province.
Sason is an old settlement built among the mountains. The district center is built on the foothills of Helkis Mountain. There are healing springs at the entrance of the district. While one side of the Sason Mountains leads to Bitlis via Kozluk, the other side leads to the Muş plain. With an elevation of nearly 3000 m, Mount Mereto is clearly visible from the Diyarbakır basin and is the highest mountain in the region.
