Şavşat
Şavşat is a district and the center of Artvin province, at the eastern end of the Black Sea Region. The name Şavşat comes from the Georgian Şavşeti and the town of Şavşat is one of the settlements of the historical Şavşeti region. However, places such as Satleli, Sinkoti, Tsihisdziri in the Şavşeti region were more important settlements during the Middle Ages. As a matter of fact, there is no historical building in Şavşat town, except Satleli (Söğütlü), which was later turned into a neighborhood. Şavşat, a small settlement, was included in the scope of Cittaslow in 2015 and is among the quiet cities of Turkey. It is 71 km away from Artvin city.
