Toroslar
Toroslar is a central district of Mersin Province. It is under Mersin Metropolitan Municipality. It forms the northeastern part of the city center. It is the central district with the largest area. There are Akdeniz district in the south, Tarsus in the east, Çamlıyayla in the northeast, Yenişehir and Mezitli districts in the west. The intercity bus terminal of Mersin is located in Toroslar district.
The two largest cemeteries of the city are also within the borders of Toroslar district. Yumuktepe historical artifacts, Mersin and Turkey's largest flag is within the borders of Toroslar district. The entrance to Gözne Plateau, one of the largest plateaus of the city, is provided by three major streets passing through Toroslar.
Çağdaşkent neighborhood in the district has Mersin's largest republic square.
It is named after the Taurus Mountains to its north. The mayor is Atsız Afşin Yılmaz from MHP.
