Ürgüp
Ürgüp is a district located 20 km east of Nevşehir Province and is one of the important centers of the Cappadocia region. As in Göreme, it has had many names throughout history. Osiana (Assiana), Hagios Prokopios (Prokopi) during the Byzantine period; Başhisar during the Seljuk Dynasty; Burgut Castle during the Ottoman period; It has been known as Ürgüp since the first years of the Republic.
