Yunus Emre
Yunusemre is one of the districts of Manisa Province in the Aegean Region of Turkey. On November 12, 2012, it became a separate district with the division of Manisa province center into two. With 257,993 inhabitants, it is the most populated district of Manisa. The name of the district comes from Yunus Emre, a Sufi and Turkish folk poet who lived in the 13th century. The district is located on the Gediz Plain and at the foot of Spil Mountain and Yamanlar Mountain. Spil and Yamanlar Mountains are located in the south of the district, Menemen district of İzmir in the west, Yunt Mountains in the north, Şehzadeler district in the east and Saruhanlı district in the northeast. The Gediz River passes through the district and north of the settlements. The main economic livelihood of the district is agriculture and industry.
